Well, one way to combat that is to buy the bulk packs of the single serve bags. Granted, it's still not the healthiest option, but I've never been one to advocate depriving yourself of your guilty pleasure. I just advocate moderation. So eating just the one small bag is a way to keep yourself from overindulging. Or if you are a chocoholic like me, grab a couple of Hershey Kisses. Just two or three should be enough to satisfy your cravings and keep you from eating an entire bar.
Now if we are talking about healthier options, here are a few I use myself. One is nuts/trail mix. While they can be high in fat, it's almost entirely the good fats, and they can give you an energy boost. Throw some peanut butter on some celery or apple slices. This way you get some much needed protein. I've always been a fan of apples. They are so many varieties to choose from, and they are filling and full of fiber.
These are just a few examples. I'll be talking about more ways to snack and eat healthy in the future. But we all need a good starting point. As always, the key is moderation and preparation. Eat well and be well!!
